Student & Early Career Night Out on the TownMonday, 10 November 2025 | 9:00 PM ET
WhereSiné Irish Pub Siné (pronounced “Shin-áy”) Irish Pub and Restaurant is the most authentic Irish food you’ll find in Virginia. Siné is known for its great food, drinks, and lively environment and was voted best bar in Downtown Richmond - it’s sure to be a great time! The kitchen is open until 10:00 PM if you want to grab a late dinner or snacks while chatting with fellow students and early career attendees. Our group will be located throughout the restaurant including a semi-private space and the outdoor patio (weather dependent). When you arrive, the organizers at the door and CERF Navigators inside the venue can direct you to the rest of the group. We hope to see you there! New this year, we will have a networking game to help you to meet new people. Everyone who completes the game will be entered into a raffle for a gift card! While attendees will be expected to pay their own food and drink bill, we’ll have a few appetizers for the group, first come first served - so get here early! Getting ThereThere are several options for getting to the venue, including walking, public transportation, and rideshare: Walking: Siné is an approximately 20 minute walk (~1 mile) from the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The easiest and safest walking route to Siné Irish Pub is:
Walking groups: We understand this can be far to walk alone or in small groups. If you would like to join a larger group, there will be two organized groups leaving from the lobby of the Marriott Hotel (adjacent to the Convention Center): one will leave at 8:45 PM and the second at 9:15 PM. There will be signs where the group is convening. We will also work to arrange groups to walk back to the Convention Center area from Siné. Public transportation: The City of Richmond offers free public transportation through the GRTC bus system! We suggest you use the public transportation option in Google Maps for the most up-to-date schedules, but here are some GRTC bus system options to get you to Siné, depending on how far you’d like to walk (and you can reverse this to get back to the Convention Center area):
Rideshare: Richmond has both Uber and Lyft for rideshare options. It is about a 5 minute drive and will cost you somewhere between $10-$15. There will be limited vouchers to allow for free Uber rides to and from Siné. We ask that you reserve vouchers for those with accessibility or safety concerns and only request one if you really need it. More information on requesting vouchers will be posted soon. Safety and Accessibility at the EventCERF Navigators will be at the event to help ensure that all attendees have a safe, inclusive, and welcoming experience at the Student & Early Career Night on the Town event. Navigators are there to chat informally, provide guidance, and help increase engagement. They are also there to ensure accessibility of the event. Many of the Navigators will have had bystander intervention training. Navigators will be easily identified by the pin they are wearing. A limited number of Uber vouchers will be available to those who need them for accessibility or safety reasons. More information on how to access the vouchers is coming soon. CERF prohibits and will not tolerate any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination. All attendees are expected to follow the 2025 CERF Event Code of Conduct. If you witness or are subject to unacceptable behavior at the Student & Early Career Night on the Town event, you may report violations using the online form. |
