CERF 2025 Navigators Program
Who are the CERF Navigators?
A CERF Navigator is a conference attendee committed to making CERF a safe, professional, and inclusive event who helps ensure that all participants feel welcomed, included, and respected. CERF Navigators are members at all career stages who volunteer to participate and will be available throughout the conference to chat informally, provide guidance, suggestions, and help increase engagement among attendees. Navigators also play an important role sharing accessibility information about the conference and fostering a genuine sense of belonging for every participant. Many have also participated in bystander intervention training to help support a safe environment.
Why might you seek us out?
Are you a first time CERFer that wants to chat with a friendly volunteer? Have a conference question? Need help finding an event? Wondering about conference accessibility? Need a bystander at the poster session? Have a question about the ombuds or reporting something you saw? Want to find the right person to chat with about a conference issue? All these reasons – and more – are good ones to talk with a Navigator.
Where can you find us?
Navigators can be identified by our logo pin worn with our name badge. You can find us at the registration desk, at the CERF booth, or as we participate in events throughout the conference. Printed resources are available at the desk and booth. You can also reach us through our GroupMe chat during the conference or by contacting the chair through the CERF App.
