2023 CERF Conference VenueOregon Convention Center
About the Oregon Convention CenterAs one of the largest event venues in the Pacific Northwest, the Oregon Convention Center provides outstanding experiences by embracing the local flavor and innovative approaches. OCC SustainabilityIn 2004, the OCC was the first convention center to earn the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) for Existing Buildings certification. In 2008, the facility was recertified at the silver level. In 2014, the OCC reached its biggest milestone yet by earning (LEED®) Platinum, the highest level of certification. The OCC is the only convention center in the United States to have earned a level 4 APEX/ASTM certification, the first standard created specifically for green meetings and events. This program, verified by the Events Industry Council, gives us a roadmap for planning sustainable events, helping vendors and guests practice green habits, and working with our community to support the environment OCC Diversity, Equity, & InclusionOCC furthers racially equitable outcomes for our region so that all people thrive. It prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its decision-making and creates inclusive spaces for both internal and external stakeholders. The OCC has outlined in this Racial Equity Action Plan its prioritized work to help eliminate the disparities that communities of color experience. And while it is certainly true that people of color are not the only demographic group that experiences barriers, solutions that help to remove barriers for people of color will likely dismantle barriers for other marginalized groups. Public TransportationPortland’s TriMet MAX light rail stops 300 times a day at the front door of the OCC, connecting riders to downtown, surrounding neighborhoods, the Oregon Zoo, and Portland International Airport. Portland Streetcar’s Central Loop stops at the OCC's MLK Lobby entrance every 15 minutes. TriMet’s Bus Line No. 6 also stops at the MLK Lobby entrance and provides access to downtown stops and outlying areas. On days with a busy event schedule, public transportation provides the easiest arrival and departure experience.
