The application of science is dependent upon effective communication. Even within the scientific community, sharing information is vital for collaboration and advanced understanding. Distilling complex concepts and datasets into engaging communications products requires skills in storytelling and graphic design. In this session, participants will learn the principles of science communication, tools for communication, and how best to use those tools. The session will include activities focused on generating a message, crafting a communication graphic, and spotting good science communication, as well as a discussion on science communication products that participants can apply to their own work.
